Artist’s Statement:

After a year’s break, I have returned to exhibit at Rollington with a new selection of work based on my fascination with small boats, especially ones I have encountered on my travels. I am particularly drawn to old, dilapidated structures that have been at the mercy of the weather. I have tried to capture their surfaces through the application of oil paint on recycled wood, ground glass, sand and plaster. I hope to convey a sense of the passage of time and the transitory nature of these objects, which increasingly resonate with me as I get older!
