PAW 2026: A Spectacular Opening Night with I Fagiolini

We are thrilled to announce that next year’s Purbeck Art Weeks Festival (23 May – 7 June 2026) will open in spectacular style with a performance by the internationally acclaimed vocal ensemble I Fagiolini.

About I Fagiolini

“The group are musical shapeshifters, following Hollingworth’s giddy, eclectic imagination wherever it leads” (The Spectator).

Founded in Oxford in 1986 by artistic director Robert Hollingworth, I Fagiolini have earned an international reputation for blending early-music mastery with bold, modern presentation. Their work spans from Renaissance and Baroque repertoire (such as Monteverdi) through to contemporary and multimedia projects.

The ensemble has been recognised with prestigious awards, including the Ensemble Award of the Royal Philharmonic Society in 2006 and they won the Gramophone Awards for the Early Music category for their recording of the Mass in 40 Parts by Alessandro Striggio (2011). They are best known for presenting music in inventive settings – immersive theatre, art-music crossover and deeply atmospheric concerts.
