There have been no potters in my family. Only artists. My Great Grandfather was a stonemason so perhaps this where i get my love of turning an insensate lump of clay into a piece of art. I work in stoneware and am more of studio potter than a production potter. My inspiration comes from the huge melting pot of life. I enjoy the challenge and the diversity that clay gives. Hamada Shoji once said “clay to wheel , they teach us “, and i for one am still learning, a lifelong journey. My pieces will be around long after I am gone. Clay is eternal.
