Artist’s Statement:

“Living by the sea has always been a privilege, and it’s ever-changing energy and transient nature are central to my work. The coastline, with its dynamic landscape and shifting moods provides constant inspiration. I often walk the coastline, absorbing the sights, sounds and textures, which I then bring together through drawing and painting. My approach combines semi-abstract representations of the local coastline and landmarks, using a juxtaposition of bold shapes and vibrant colours. My keen eye for detail draws attention to the elements that often go unnoticed, creating a unique aesthetic.

Working primarily in acrylics, I incorporate pen and pencils to add intricate detail and subtle highlights. I enjoy working on paper for the rich quality and texture you can create.

After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Falmouth College of Arts in 2006, I have lived in various coastal locations, including the Isles of Scilly and Cornwall. Now based on Swanage, the unique Purbeck landscape and surrounding areas frequently inspire my artwork.
