Liza-Lu Glass

Categories: Craft, Glass, Guest Artist

2022 Venue(s): Open Studio 29

“The name Liza-Lu was adopted by us, Annie and Michelle, as a result of living in Dorset with the wonderful legacy of Thomas Hardy.
Tess (Tess of the D’Urbervilles) described her sister, Liza-Lu, as ‘so good and simple and pure’, and that is what we feel about glass.
We have 25 years of experience of working with glass and always design, plan and create our pieces together in our Dorset workshop. We love the different possibilities of texture and movement that are achievable with the medium of glass, and enjoy the additional dimension that light brings to our pieces.
Our work is inspired by the Dorset coastline and countryside: the name of each piece reflecting the place that was the inspiration for the colours, textures and overall design.”
