Artist’s Statement:

My name is Kim Wessely. I work in many different mediums but I specialize and particularly enjoy creating realistic drawings of wildlife in pencil. I teach at the local school, Sandford St Martins Primary School, highlighting to the children the importance of protecting these truely unique creatures that live in our waters. All of my drawings of seahorses use a school HB pencil, one the children use daily. I demonstrated to them the creative capabilities that could be achieved using this simple medium. It also showed the children patience, perseverance, focus, determination and hardwork.
