Artist’s Statement:

Sources of inspiration come from a variety of interests including textures, colours of the sea, sailing, the figure, body language. I aim to capture movement and the tactile qualities of clay during the making process. In contrast to my engineering and teaching background clay offers an exciting sense of freedom from utilitarianism. Balancing control of techniques and inviting malleability of clay is an ongoing exploration.
