Artist’s Statement:

“I aim to capture a sense of the people, places, and things around me. Through hand-stitching and layering, I transform their lines and forms into textural pieces that are semi abstract and reductive in nature. All my pieces are hand-stitched, borrowing from traditional western embroidery as well as kantha and sashiko techniques. Recent works include collaged elements and hand-painted fabrics which have injected more colour and brought a looser expressive style.

Some of the pieces I’m exhibiting this year form part of a new collection of breasts. I’m interested in the beauty, diversity, cultural and emotional importance of breasts and would love to make the collection as varied as possible.
